M.B.C. School of Karate

The M.B.C. School of Karate is a traditional Isshin-ryu Karate school located at 2342 Duncan Rd. Maryville TN.  Classes are held in the right wing of the church building. 

Students are taught two-man drills, self-defense, sparring, body conditioning and kata (pre-arranged forms).  Our school emphasis is primary toward street applications. However, the traditional aspects of Karate are also taught, such as self-confidence, respect and physical fitness.

Periodically we will host special classes with guest instructors from other schools or styles and by our own instructors that cross train in other systems.

Information

Master Harold Nuchols, Hachi-Dan (8^th degree Black Belt), is the Head Instructor of the M.B.C. School of Karate and has been active in Isshin-ryu Karate since 1961.

Classes are held in the right wing of the building at the Faith Encounter church. Even though we are located in the church, the Isshin-ryu Karate classes are secular in nature. Students or prospective students will not be lectured or preached to. Classes are open to anyone.

We do ask that students must be no younger than 13 years of age. This is due to the physical demands and content of instruction.

Isshin-ryu Karate, like all martial arts, is a contact sport. Therefore, all students are required to sign a waiver of responsibility and are responsible for the cost, care and maintenance of their personal safety equipment or any other equipment they are required to have.

No prior martial arts experience is required and visitors are welcome to observe classes. We do ask that you be polite, courteous and not disrupt classes. An instructor will be glad to answer any questions you may have.

Visitors from other schools/styles are welcome to observe or participate in classes. However,we do ask that you abide by our class structure and rules.

Monday   6:30pm-9:00pm

Thursday 6:30pm-8:30pm

Student fees:

            $45 per month per person

            $30 per month per additional family member

             Fees are due the 1^st of every month

             No testing fees. $5 for new belt

                1st class is free
